Tap
Tap dance is a style of dance where rhythm and footwork create music, quite like drumming. Dancers use sound, patterns, mixed steps, timing, and expressive body movement.
Tap Dance builds musicality through hearing rhythms, counting patterns and responding to different tempos.
It strengthens coordination through timing between feet, legs, and upper body. It boosts stamina & endurance.
There are many styles of tap dance. We teach both traditional technical tap and American "street to stage" tap with our performances covering Broadway, Rhythm, Musical Theatre & Irish.
Lyrical
Lyrical is a style that translates emotion into dance through soft, expressive movement.
It's called lyrical because the dancer interprets the lyrics, melody and mood of a song. Dancers find this style to be extremely enjoyable and a wonderful outlet for mental health, giving the chance to relax and express their emotions through movement. Lyrical dance features expressive upper-body and arm work, breath-like timing, balance, floorwork and musicality.
Contemporary
Contemporary is a modern dance style that blends elements of dance from jazz, ballet and improvisation. It's key components are expression and emotion. Contemporary allows for freedom of movement, exploration of shapes, floor work and a dynamic range of choreography.
Contemporary dancers build versatile technique and expressive control, strong coordination and strong balance.
